Li-Ma Westerhout
Featured Artist

Li-Ma Westerhout (2000) was born in Germany and grew up in
St. Petersburg, Russia. Painting has been part of her life for as long as she can remember ever since she was able to hold a brush. Over the years, she studied at various art schools and academies in Russia, the Netherlands, and Belgium, focusing on classical painting and graphic design.
Growing up as a young immigrant in a conservative environment, and later building a life in Europe, has deeply shaped the way she sees the world. Themes such as identity, personal values, finding your own path, and at the same time staying connected to others run as a common thread through both her life and her work.
For Li-Ma, art is above all a way to connect.
A language that needs no translation. Through her work, she creates connections with people across borders, cultures, and backgrounds.
Over the past few years, Li-Ma has worked as a freelance artist on a wide range of projects from illustrations for books and album covers to murals and exhibitions. Today, she is increasingly focused on developing her own body of work, exploring nature and our human connection to it.
As our featured artist, Li-Ma invites us to look again at the world around us and at the connections we create with nature and with one another.
