The Demons of my forest
The Demons of My Forest explores the inner world we carry with us:
memories, fears, desires, and thoughts that often remain hidden.
The forest becomes a metaphor for the unknown a place where beauty and darkness exist side by side.
The exhibition invites visitors to enter this landscape and confront what usually stays in the shadows. The “demons” are not only something to fear, but also parts of ourselves that ask to be seen, explored, and perhaps even embraced.

Dirk Santens
Dirk Santens is a contemporary sculptor known for his compelling animal figures. His work begins not in bronze, but in observation. He studies his subjects with patience and precision, attentive to what often goes unnoticed: the subtle shift of a shoulder, the quiet tension within a muscle, the fleeting instant in which a body gathers itself before movement.
Working in plastiline, Santens models swiftly and intuitively, guided by the energy of the moment. This immediacy remains present in the final bronze. He deliberately leaves the surface largely unpolished, allowing the trace of his hands to remain visible. Nothing is ornamental; nothing is excessive. Only what is essential endures.
His sculptures never feel static. They appear poised at the edge of motion — as if they might turn, leap, or draw breath at any moment. Each work captures a fragile threshold: a gesture suspended in time. By fixing that fleeting instant in bronze, Santens reveals what would otherwise vanish in the blink of an eye.
